A Travel Air 2000 biplane made the world's first piloted flight under steam power over Oakland, California, on 12 April 1933. The strangest feature of the flight was its relative silence; spectators on the ground could hear the pilot when he called to them from mid-air. During the races a red fox even came out to see what all the noise was as he ran across the field. Even the kids had a turn at the drag strip. Lucky I went to shoot this because my wife won the 50/50 draw with 5bucks in change out of my pocket LOL. This is an assembled "Bare Bones" Helicopter from Xheli.com. That means you must choose and buy your own RC equipment. I chose the Raiden 1620Kv motor for this machine. I must say, it is more than ample! If you use the same, make sure you know how to handle the power and not overdo it. Always searching for an electric helicopter with some weight and mass to handle our winds, I have begun exploring the 500 class helicopters. In this video, I give a look at the Esky 900 helicopter actually flying in those winds. The ES 900 is a fantastic flying machine, when set up with the pitch and throttle curves I developed on my test stand. I have videos on my test/training stand and how to make the pontoons. Search Stealth Helicopters and for NightFlyyer's Helicopter training/test stand to see my videos on the subject. The Esky Helicopter feels good and solid for sure and I am quite impressed, since this helicopter only cost 9. I used the 14.4 battery for the first test flight, and the 18.5 volt battery for the 3D flights. I recommend the 14.4 battery, because it runs longer and the extra power of the 18.5 is not necessary, however I like the extra weight of the bigger battery. Also, you need a charger that can charge an 18.5 v, 3000 Ma, 5 cell LiPo, so that is a consideration. From there, only 65 more years were required to reach the Moon, and six months after that to land on it and bring those brave souls back in one piece. The Video shows the Ignition and Lift off sequence of Apollo 11 Saturn V from the angle of the High Speed Cam E-8 running at 500 fps on the launch umbilical tower/mobile launch program of Apollo 11, July 16, 1969. Total clip represent 26 seconds of actual time, filmed on 16mm. The Saturn V: The Saturn V is 118m high and 11m in Diameter (at its base). The 5 Rocketdyne F1s pushed over twice as much power as the space shuttle, over 7 Million pounds of thrust. The fuel used was Kerosene (Refined Diesel) and an Oxidizer (Oxygen being released at the last minute before launch) that's also why the smoke is so black when it's immediately leaving the nozzles. Fuel that is not completely burned is cooler than the stuff that is burning just a little further below, thus preventing the bottom of the rocket from melting. The 5 engines each burning 3 tons of fuel per sec. 2 tons of liquid oxygen and 1 ton of kerosene.
